Memo To Foes Of Health Reform: Repudiate The Morality Of Need

In the run-up to the Senate's passage of the health care bill,
opponents of ObamaCare denounced it as an unprecedented
expansion of government control over medicine.
They warned of the proven consequences of government medicine,
pointing to the rationing that occurs in Canada and Europe.
They pointed to the low cancer survival rates in places like Britain.
They cited statistic after statistic showing that ObamaCare will raise costs
and lower health care quality in America.
They were right — yet it looks like Obama will get his bill.
And even if the Republicans are able to pull off an upset,
there is no question that over the coming years government
control over health will continue to grow.
Why? Consider the history of government involvement in health care.
In the 1960s there was a perception that some elderly were not receiving adequate health care.
To meet this need, Congress passed Medicare. The same concern was voiced about the poor.
To meet their need, Congress passed Medicaid.
The same concern was voiced about those too destitute (or too irresponsible)
to buy health insurance, and in the '80s Congress passed the
Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act, forcing emergency rooms
to treat anyone who needed medical attention, regardless of their ability to pay.
The same concern was voiced about parents who were too well off for Medicare,
but who nevertheless couldn't meet their children's health care needs,
and in the late '90s Congress passed the State Children's Health Insurance Program.
The message is clear:
If you have a need, you are entitled to have it fulfilled at others' expense.
The reason we continue to move toward socialized medicine is that everyone —
including the opponents of socialized medicine — grants its basic moral premise:
that need generates an entitlement.
So long as that principle goes unchallenged, government intervention in medicine
will continue growing, as each new pressure group asserts its need and lobbies
for its entitlement, until finally the government takes responsibility for fulfilling
everyone's medical needs by socializing the health care system outright.
Some believe you can stop this process midstream:
The government will intervene only to help those in dire circumstances
while otherwise leaving people responsible for their own health care.
But that's an illusion. If need entitles one to the wealth and effort of others,
then there is no logical reason why the government should restrict help to
some small subset of the "needy," and refuse to help the rest.
The only way to effectively oppose socialized health care is to reject
the morality of need in favor of a genuinely American alternative.
According to the American ideal, men are not their brother's keeper —
we are independent individuals with inalienable rights to support our own
lives and happiness by our own efforts.
That means taking responsibility for your own medical needs,
just as you take responsibility for your grocery shopping and car payments.
It means no one can claim that his need entitles him to your time, effort, or wealth.
Where is the willingness to defend this ideal by saying,
"Your health care is your responsibility — and if you truly cannot afford
the care you need, then you must ask for private charity —
not pick your neighbor's pocket to pay for it"?
Opponents of ObamaCare object that it is "too expensive,"
that the proposed bills are "too long,"
that Congress is moving "too fast" —
conceding all the while that the goal of providing people
with unearned health care is righteous.
But if forcing some Americans to provide unearned health care for others is noble,
then is it any wonder that America keeps moving toward socialized medicine?
Is it any wonder that, while Republicans loudly oppose Democratic attempts to expand
government control over health care, they do not challenge the endless need-based
interventions that already exist — and instead push for their own need-based programs
(such as Bush's prescription drug entitlement)?
Those who truly want to fight against socialized medicine in America
must realize that it's time to drop the morality of need and proudly say:
I am not my brother's health care provider.

ACLUs War on Christmas on Hold Due to Economy

Peter Hannaford of the American Spectator reports that
the ACLU has suddenly found some tight budgeting times
with the announcement that one of its long time patrons
said he couldn’t donate the tall cash he usually donates
because of his own harsh economic realities.
Apparently the ACLU sent out a letter that told its followers
that its largest donor, David Gelbaum, couldn’t donate this
year because his investments in “clean tech” were not doing
very well.
IN fact, that is two Christmas presents to the nation.
That means that the ACLU has only enough funds to
continue its normal, everyday operations and doesn’t
have the extra cash to go on its traditional anti-American
campaign that it usually launches at this time of year
to destroy religion and Christmas.
So, for at least this year, your creches are safe,
your crosses and angels on the tree won’t find
lawsuits filed against them, and your singing of
religious carols won’t be silenced by the
hatemongers of the ACLU.
So, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Thank You Sen. Bob Dole--Honoring a man who honors our vets.

I want to honor a well-known American for something he does outside the spotlight.
Every month an organization called the Honor Flight Network arranges a visit to
Washington, D.C., by a group of veterans of World War II.
Among the activities planned for them is a visit to the granite structure on the
National Mall called the National World War II Memorial.
When they arrive, there to greet them is World War II vet,
former Senate Majority Leader, and one-time Republican
candidate for president, Bob Dole.
Here’s how Gerald Seib described a recent Saturday gathering of
108 such men in his Capital Journal column:
“To these veterans, 29 of them in wheelchairs and several toting oxygen tanks,
Mr. Dole was like a rock star. They gathered around to shake hands,
to have their pictures taken with him, to crack a joke about their ages.”
The journalist continued, “World War II was, after all, Bob Dole’s war too,
the violence of which left him permanently without use of his right arm,
and these were his comrades in arms. And the spectacular structure behind
them on the National Mall is, in many ways, Mr. Dole’s memorial to them,
one for which he spent years crusading in the Senate.”
By the end of this year the Honor Flight organization will have flown 42,000 such veterans,
at no cost to themselves, to Washington to see the monument. For as long as his health permits,
Bob Dole will be there to greet—and thank—every single one.

Fox news just announced that former holdout Ben Nelson (D-NE)
has caved.
Nelson admitted last night that he was trying to get
more goodies for his state…
so it wasn’t really about abortion after all.
Nelson scored a Medicaid exemption for Nebraska which keeps
the state from paying it’s burden FOREVER.
That’s a biggie, because this plan throws incredible financial
burdens on the states.
We’ll be picking up Nebraska’s tab.
Reid included a provision in his amendment that allows states
to prohibit abortion coverage in the insurance exchanges
the bill creates.
It’s basically a state opt-out, which allows Democrats to
sidestep the tricky issue by dumping it on the states.
The amendment also requires that health plans that
provide abortion services segregrate the premiums
from any federal money so that federal funds don’t
pay for abortion services.
In other words: another shell game.
Because the insurance plans offered through the exchange
are eligible for federal subsidies, taxpayer money is still
paying for the coverage of abortion.
Ben Nelson will be holding a press conference at 10:00 AM ET.

Number 042-68-4425 that Mr. Obama used for most of his life and is currently using while residing in the White House, is a number assigned to an individual born in 1890, who resided in the state of Connecticut and this Social Security number was issued in the state of Connecticut where Mr. Obama never resided.
One of the leading forensic experts in the country Ms. Sandra Ramsey Lines has prepared an affidavit, stating that Mr. Obama’s short version Certification of Life Birth cannot be treated as genuine without seeing the original on file in the Health Department in HI.
The state of Hawaii since 1911 had in its statutes a provision allowing Foreign born children of Hawaiian residents of get Hawaiian Birth Certificates(currently statute 338-17) and currently statute 338-5 allows one to get a birth certificate based on a statement of one relative only without any corroborating evidence from the hospital.
In spite of over 100 law suits filed around the country and 12 Citizen Grand Jury indictments Mr. Obama refused to sign a consent to unseal his original birth certificate currently sealed in the Health Department of the state of Hawaii and all the other vital records.
Ms. Chiuomi Fukino, Director of the Health Department of the State of Hawaii has provided a statement that there is a document on file in Hawaii, however she refused to provide any information, as to what document is on file: whether it is a Birth Certificate given to a foreign born child of Hawaiian resident, whether it is an amended Birth certificate, obtained when Mr. Obama was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather. She refused to answer any questions as to whether his birth certificate was obtained based on a proper hospital birth certificate or based on a statement of one of his relatives only, which needs to be corroborated.
Regardless of place of birth of Mr. Obama, since birth and until now Mr. Obama had a split allegiance. He had British citizenship at birth, Kenyan since age 2 and Indonesian since age 5. Allegiance to other Nations goes as a clear violation of the Natural citizenship clause of the article 2 section 1 of the Constitution.
Under the Freedom of Information act 5 US 552, since no response was provided to numerous certified mail letters received by your office nine months ago, I demand a written response or Administrative hearing on the matter within 30 days. On behalf of my clients I demand an answer, as to when the Quo Warranto against Mr. Obama will be filed by the US Attorney General office, or in the alternative if the Attorney General office refuses to file Quo Warranto, I demand an ex-relator status for my clients to proceed with the Quo Warranto action against Mr. Obama in the DC court or the Supreme Court of the United States.

On March 1st on behalf of my clients I have submitted to you a request to file Quo Warranto against Mr. Barack Hussein Obama. The request was filed due to following troubling facts:
According to a number of licensed investigators National Databases show Mr. Obama using as many as 39 different Social Security numbers, which included the numbers of deceased individuals and numbers never assigned.
Number 042-68-4425 that Mr. Obama used for most of his life and is currently using while residing in the White House, is a number assigned to an individual born in 1890, who resided in the state of Connecticut and this Social Security number was issued in the state of Connecticut where Mr. Obama never resided.
One of the leading forensic experts in the country Ms. Sandra Ramsey Lines has prepared an affidavit, stating that Mr. Obama’s short version Certification of Life Birth cannot be treated as genuine without seeing the original on file in the Health Department in HI.
The state of Hawaii since 1911 had in its statutes a provision allowing Foreign born children of Hawaiian residents of get Hawaiian Birth Certificates(currently statute 338-17) and currently statute 338-5 allows one to get a birth certificate based on a statement of one relative only without any corroborating evidence from the hospital.

The bad news is it only lasted two days
Two things made him take the dummy down.
First, the cops advised him that it could cause traffic
accidents when people drove by, startled at the sight.
Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder,
almost killing herself putting it against my house,
not realizing it was a dummy until she climbed to the top.
(she was not happy).
By the way, she was but one of many people who attempted
to do that.

NEW School prayer:
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks...
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong..
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles..
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

Sensenbrenner: No New Laws Until Climate Data 'Scientific Fascism' Ends

A Republican lawmaker said Tuesday he is going to attend the Copenhagen conference on climate change to inform world leaders that despite any promises made by President Obama, no new laws will be passed in the United States until the "scientific fascism" ends.
Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., also wrote to Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, head of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, on Monday to demand that researchers who authored e-mails and documents that demonstrate climate change data were manipulated should not be allowed to participate in the latest report written by the U.N. panel.
"I call it 'scientific fascism,'" Sensenbrenner said during a press conference with fellow climate change skeptics. "The U.N. should throw a red flag. .... They relied on these scientists unjustifiably in my opinion."
Sensenbrenner wrote that "these bad actors" limited peer-reviewed studies used by the IPCC, which is leading the Copenhagen conference on climate change.
"Their behavior has caused grave damage to the public trust in climate science in general, and to the IPCC, in particular," Sensenbrenner wrote. "They should not be allowed to do so in the future. I therefore request that you and the co-chairs of each of the three IPCC working groups ensure that none of the individuals involved in these nefarious e-mail exchanges participate as contributors, reviewers, or in any other capacity in the preparation of" the next IPCC report.
Sensenbrenner is just the latest lawmaker to jump into the fray over "Climategate," a growing scandal over the release of thousands of e-mails written by global-warming scientists that show an effort to manipulate data and prevent publication of opposition research. More than 1,000 e-mails and 2,000 other documents from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia in Great Britain were released just weeks ahead of the Copenhagen conference.
In his letter to Pachauri, Sensenbrenner noted an e-mail from Pennsylvania State University researcher Michael Mann that proposes warding other scientists off of "Climate Research" journal because it published scientific studies counter to the conclusions of the IPCC's contributors.
"The e-mails, however, demonstrate that a cabal of supposed 'cream-of-the-crop' climate scientists were indeed successful in getting editors of journals that had published contrarian views fired and that they conspired to boycott journals that did not bend to their wishes -- therefore ensuring that such views would not be adequately represented in IPCC Assessment Reports," Sensenbrenner wrote.
But supporters of putting curbs on fossil fuel emissions say that despite the questionable nature of the e-mails, they don't undermine the science, and point to the latest data from the very agencies wrapped up in the scandal.
"Global warming deniers are trying to say this is all a trick, but the truth of the matter is that our world is getting hotter, faster," said Rep. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., chairman of the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming and a co-author of legislation to limit greenhouse gas emissions.
Markey cited data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which concluded that this decade had an average global surface temperature about 1 degree fahrenheit above the 20th century average.
Data from NOAA as well as NASA and the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia are used by the World Meteorological Organization, the U.N.'s weather agency. Michel Jarraud, secretary-general of the WMO, announced at Copenhagen on Tuesday that 2000-2009 "is very likely to be the warmest on record, warmer than the 1990s, than the 1980s and so on."
"There is a mountain of evidence proving global warming is a fact, but the defenders of the fossil fuel status quo are using a molehill of a scandal to distract the world. The deniers will not win, because they are wrong," Markey said.
Obama is headed to Copenhagen next week for the end of the conference. After the Environmental Protection Agency on Monday issued a scientific finding on the danger of carbon dioxide, several Republicans say they fear Obama will make pledges at the conference that will try to bypass congressional approval.
