Do You Have A Favorite?

Barack Obama Has Awakened a Sleeping Nation

Gary Hubbell
Aspen Times Weekly

Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America
in the last 100 years. Truly, he is the savior of America's future.
He is the best thing ever.

Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings
among recent presidents, history will see Barack Obama as the
source of America's resurrection.
Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that
we could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize
health care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide;
TARP bailouts and stimulus spending have shown little positive
effect on the national economy; unemployment is unacceptably
high and looks to remain that way for most of a decade;
legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels,
and there is a seething anger in the populace.

That's why Barack Obama is such a good thing for America.

Obama is the symbol of a creeping liberalism that has infected
our society like a cancer for the last 100 years.
Just as Hitler is the face of fascism, Obama will go down in history
as the face of unchecked liberalism. The cancer metastasized to
the point where it could no longer be ignored.

Average Americans who have quietly gone about their lives,
earning a paycheck, contributing to their favorite charities,
going to high school football games on Friday night,
spending their weekends at the beach or on hunting trips -
they've gotten off the fence. They've woken up.
There is a level of political activism in this country that
we haven't seen since the American Revolution, and
Barack Obama has been the catalyst that has sparked a
restructuring of the American political and social consciousness.

Think of the crap we've slowly learned to tolerate
over the past 50 years as liberalism sought to re-structure
the America that was the symbol of freedom and liberty
to all the people of the world.

Immigration laws were ignored on the basis of compassion.

Welfare policies encouraged irresponsibility, the fracturing
of families, and a cycle of generations of dependency.

Debt was regarded as a tonic to lubricate the economy.

Our children left school having been taught that they are
exceptional and special, while great numbers of them cannot
perform basic functions of mathematics and literacy.

Legislators decided that people could not be trusted to defend their
own homes, and stripped citizens of their rights to own firearms.

Productive members of society have been penalized with a heavy
burden of taxes in order to support legions of do-nothings who
loll around, reveling in their addictions, obesity, indolence,
ignorance and "disabilities."

Criminals have been arrested and re-arrested, coddled
and set free to pillage the citizenry yet again.

Lawyers routinely extort fortunes from doctors,
contractors and business people with dubious torts.

We slowly learned to tolerate these outrages,
shaking our heads in disbelief, and we went on with our lives.
But Barack Obama has ripped the lid off a seething cauldron
of dissatisfaction and unrest.

In the time of Barack Obama,

Black Panther members stand outside polling places in black
commando uniforms, slapping truncheons into their palms.

ACORN - a taxpayer-supported organization -
is given a role in taking the census, even after its members were
caught on tape offering advice to set up child prostitution rings.

A former Communist is given a paid government position
in the White House as an advisor to the president.

Auto companies are taken over by the government,
and the auto workers' union (whose contracts are
completely insupportable in any economic sense)
is rewarded with a stake in the company.

Government bails out Wall Street investment bankers and
insurance companies, who pay their executives outrageous
bonuses as thanks for the public support.

Terrorists are read their Miranda rights and given free lawyers.

And, despite overwhelming public disapproval, Barack Obama has
pushed forward with a health care plan that would re-structure
one-sixth of the American economy.

I don't know about you, but the other day I was at the courthouse
doing some business, and I stepped into the court clerk's office
and changed my voter affiliation from "Independent" to "Republican."
I am under no illusion that the Republican party is perfect,
but at least they're starting to awaken to the fact that we cannot
sustain massive levels of debt;
we cannot afford to hand out billions of dollars in corporate subsidies;
we have to somehow trim our massive entitlement programs;
we can no longer be the world's policeman and dole out billions
in aid to countries whose citizens seek to harm us.

Literally millions of Americans have had enough.
They're organizing, they're studying the Constitution
and the Federalist Papers, they're reading history and case law,
they're showing up at rallies and meetings, and a slew of
conservative candidates are throwing their hats into the ring.

Is there a revolution brewing?
Yes, in the sense that there is a keen awareness that our priorities
and sensibilities must be radically re-structured.

Will it be a violent revolution?
No. It will be done through the interpretation of the original
document that has guided us for 220 years - the Constitution.

Just as the pendulum swung to embrace political correctness
and liberalism, there will be a backlash, a complete repudiation
of a hundred years of nonsense.
A hundred years from now, history will perceive the year 2010
as the time when America got back on the right track.

And for that, we can thank Barack Hussein Obama.

The Beginning of a Military Dictatorship in America?

From the Editor
at Worth Reading

We all know Obama has said he wants a domestic military force,
as large and well equipped as the US military. We all know he has
80,000 troops already being trained for this task.

Now, in Obamas old turf, Democrats are quietly asking to have
the military patrol the streets doing the police forces job.

Their claim is that gun violence is to high.
This sounds to suspicious to me, more like an opening to putting
Obamas private army on the streets and then of course taking away
our second amendment right to bear arms...

Once it is done in Chicago, precedent would be set and then how easy
for Obama to get it done elsewhere, everywhere...

This is AMERICA PEOPLE, do not let this become a freaking banana republic
with Obamas soldiers on every corner standing around with machine guns,
which is where this will lead...
Remember FREEDOM people?
Remember being PROUD of being an American?

State Reps Want to Fight Violence with National Guard's Help

Kristen Mack and Daarel Burnette II
Chicago Tribune

State Representatives John Fritchey and LaShawn Ford along with Willie Williams ((from left), who lost his son to gun violence, call for help in Chicago from the Illinois National Guard during a press conference today at the Thompson Center. (Nancy Stone/ Chicago Tribune)

Two state representatives called on Gov. Pat Quinn Sunday to deploy the Illinois National Guard to safeguard Chicago's streets.

Chicago Democrats John Fritchey and LaShawn Ford said they want Quinn, Mayor Richard Daley and Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis to allow guardsmen to patrol streets and help quell violence. Weis said he did not support the idea because the military and police operate under different rules.

"Is this a drastic call to action? Of course it is," Fritchey said. "Is it warranted when we are losing residents to gun violence at such an alarming rate? Without question. We are not talking about rolling tanks down the street or having armed guards on each corner."

What he envisions, Fritchey said, is a "heightened presence on the streets," particularly on the roughly 9 percent of city blocks where most of the city's violent crimes occur.

Weis previously identified those "hot spots" and said he plans to create a 100-person team made up of selected and volunteer police personnel to respond to crime there. If guardsmen were to assist police, they could comprise or contribute to that force, Fritchey said.

So far this year, 113 people have been killed across Chicago, the same number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan combined in the same period, Fritchey said.

"As we speak, National Guard members are working side-by-side with our troops to fight a war halfway around the world," Fritchey said. "The unfortunate reality is that we have another war that is just as deadly taking place right in our backyard." While the National Guard has been deployed in other states to prevent violence related to specific events and protests, the Chicago legislators said they are unaware of guardsmen being deployed to assist with general urban unrest.

Weis countered that the only scenario in which the National Guard would be helpful is in the situation of a tornado, earthquake or flood. If the military were brought in to help with city violence, they wouldn't answer to police command -- creating a "major disconnect" in mission and strategy.

Alluding to the 1970 Kent State University incident where the National Guard was called in and protestors and students were shot, Weis said having guardsmen handle crime could be "disastrous." But he said if the Daley suggested it, he would consider the option.

"I'm open to anything that reduces violence. But I have concerns when you mix law enforcement and the military," Weis said.

But Fritchey and Ford said prompt action is needed because summer is right around the corner and with the warm weather comes an increase in violence.

Fritchey and Ford serve two different constituencies, representing the North Side and the West Side respectively. "One half of this city views this as a part of daily life," Fritchey said. "Another part of the city doesn't care because it doesn't affect them." Yet the lawmakers said they are coming together because gun violence should be a priority to all Chicagoans.

"No help is too much help" Ford said. "This is not just about the murders. It's about the crime. It's about people being stabbed, robbed and in the hospital on life support."

Fritchey said he spoke to representatives from Quinn's office about deploying guardsmen and they "seemed open to the idea." The lawmakers had yet to speak to Weis or the mayor's office.

"I don't anticipate the governor implementing it over the objection of the mayor," Fritchey said.

"I hope this doesn't become a territorial issue. I hope this doesn't become an ego issue. This isn't about public relations or politics. This is about reclaiming our communities."

Thank You Governor Brewer

April 23, 2010

Most of America and 70% of Arizona citizens thank you, Governor Brewer,
for agreeing with the Arizona legislature and signing S.B. 1070.
As you probably already know, President Obama has described your actions
as misguided and irresponsible. Napolitano stated that the border numbers
were getting better and that borders were a matter of national security.
Shame on you Napolitano.

Both President Obama and the Department of Homeland Security boss
simply must understand that their failure to honor their oaths of office and
provide protection to border and all American citizens will result in,
as they would say, more irresponsible and misguided actions by
other local governments.

We can only hope that this will be the case, and others will follow.

A Judge Rules Against Prayer, But Not Against An Imposter

By Jerry McConnell
on canada free press.com

How unGodly our country becomes with each passing day.

The ranks of those with the absence of God in them
are growing larger and stronger in our population and
concernedly in our judiciary.

How easy it must be for a U. S. District Judge to play
the role of God and strike down any references to the
real God. But it must leave a bit of nagging doubt in
their minds, even if they are of no special faith persuasion.
Any sane and reasonably intelligent person HAS to have
some tinges of ‘is it’ or ‘isn’t it’ etched in their minds.

To a heartless and uncaring atheist who loves no one
beyond him or herself it is probably easy and unfettering
to their minds to blaspheme or outright deny any reference
to anything higher in spiritual plane than themselves.

A higher authority will censure those non-feelers at an
appropriate time. But right now I would like to ask one
U. S. District Judge Barbara Crabb why it is so simple to
rule against a beautiful and absolutely harmless
Day of Prayer that demands no special allegiance or actions
save what is in one’s heart; a day that if left untouched and
allowed to continue that would bring only goodness and
love to all who participate.

I am sure that Madam Crabb would answer that the
participants in the lawsuit brought by the
Freedom From Religion Foundation, a Madison-based
group of atheists and agnostics, felt offended and
damaged or some such rot. I never will understand
why such creatures have to lie to stop something that
gives great pleasure to many others and at no cost or
loss to the self-minded offendees.

This country was founded by Christians and peopled
by good and caring Christians who opened their hearts
and allowed others from all over the world of all faiths
to come and live in the freedom and love as did they;
only to have ingratitude and selfishness spring up from
the newcomers. And mostly, the ungraciousness of such
people who were welcomed into the folds of Christians
without question or rules, is now their unfounded
hammer and nails of hate.

Judge Crabb says the day violates the separation of church
and state. HOW?
To me, the day brings together all those of faith for a moment
to reflect and bathe in the goodness of that faith that keeps
sanity among peoples of different faiths instead of bloodshed
and battle. No harm is done to anyone.
Our Constitution radiates with its goodness.

But if it is so simple for a jurist to so easily rule that a
day of prayer that infringes on no one and harms no one
is ANY kind of violation, why is it so hard for that same
jurist or any of his or her peers to also follow the dictates
of our Constitution and rule against a person who secretly
and knowingly defrauded said Constitution by hiding his
true identity and illegally filed an application for the
Office of the Presidency?

That person who now holds that office is doing harm
with each official action he takes in the guise of being
legitimately qualified to hold office even though he violates
one main requisite; that of being a natural born citizen.

Judge Crabb, I call on you to exercise your duty as a sworn
defender of our Constitution to rule as firmly as you did in
this case against a Day of Prayer, that the usurper in the
Office of the President is also unconstitutional.

Do you have that kind of iron in your own constitution Judge?

Whats More Offensive: Confederate Flag or Illegal Aliens Flying Mexican Flag?

By John W. Lillpop
Posted at Worth Reading

One of the most despicable aspects of liberal bigots
is their insatiable appetite for tearing down anything
American in order to build up anti-American sentiment.

The issue over the Confederate Flag is an excellent example.

Most liberals have nothing but contempt for one
the most lasting and cherished symbols of the South;
preferring to label those who revere the Confederate
Flag as red-necked racists and hate mongers.

To most liberals, diversity is a terrific concept,
except when it spawns tolerance for ideas and
practices that the left opposes.

Long live liberal fascists?

Amazingly enough, those same self-righteous
moon bats who are so anxious to disembowel
American citizens for flying the Confederate Flag
will defend millions of illegal aliens who take
over our streets while boasting the Mexican flag!

If ever there was a flag that should be banned in America,
it is the flag of Mexico, our third-world neighbors who dump
their illiterate peasants on the U.S. side of the border for
American taxpayers to feed, house, educate, and provide
medical care for.

Bottom Line:
Give me a redneck with a Confederate Flag any day
over a brown-necked illegal alien with a Mexican flag!

Thomas Jefferson Says

When we get piled upon one another in large cities,
as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe.
Thomas Jefferson

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those
who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
Thomas Jefferson

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes.
A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.
Thomas Jefferson

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the
government from wasting the labors of the people under the
pretense of taking care of them.
Thomas Jefferson

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government
results from too much government.
Thomas Jefferson

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
Thomas Jefferson

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep
and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against
tyranny in government.
Thomas Jefferson

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time
with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Thomas Jefferson

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation
of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.
Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our
liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow
private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation,
then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around
the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children
wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered..'

Remembering Our Troops Still Matters

Sunday, April 11, 2010
TOWNHALL DAILY:
Salena Zito

GETTYSBURG – South of Emmitsburg Road,
along the Civil War battlefield here, 20 men gather
around a monument to Latham’s Battery.

They toil at the simple memorial honoring the
North Carolina artillery unit, cleaning cannons
and resetting fallen rocks on a low stone wall.
Most of the men are Civil War re-enactors and
are wearing period uniforms.

“Colonel” Kevin Stone, one of the volunteers,
says they gather to do this twice a year.
“If we don’t do it,” he explains, “who will?”

With few exceptions in our history, we Americans
have honored our soldiers, living and dead, past
and present.

The nation is in its longest period of continual war now,
although it faces a different kind of warfare and a different
kind of enemy. The average American has not had to make
significant sacrifices this time, unlike most previous wartime generations.

Jeff Brauer, an associate professor of history at
Keystone College, thinks that fact actually has led
to heightened patriotism.
“Without a daily outlet for appreciation, there has been
an increased migration to memorials such as Gettysburg,
the World War II, Vietnam and Korean war memorials
(in Washington), to show respect and gratitude for our
current and past soldiers.”

The man responsible for managing the wars in
Iraq and Afghanistan, Gen. David Petraeus,
says he hopes his troops are honored today –
and generations from now –
as the selfless men and women they are.

“All those now in uniform raised their right hand
long after the attacks of 9/11,” he said, from Poland
where he was attending meetings.
“Even those serving before then have re-enlisted or
remained on active duty. They knew they'd be asked
to deploy, and yet they have continued to serve, voluntarily.”

These men and women continue to raise their right hands
even as they confront tough, often barbaric enemies, he says.
“They perform the most challenging of missions in cultures
different from our own.

“They have done magnificently, and they truly are the
very best of our country.”

Retired Army staff sergeant “Wild” Bill Guarnere
knows about challenging missions. At age 18 he
made his first combat jump on D-Day, part of the
Allied invasion of France during World War II.

A member of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion,
506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division,
Guarnere said the thought never crossed his mind then that
what he was doing would be remembered generations later.

“We were there to protect the freedoms of our country,”
Guarnere said by phone from his home in South Philly.
“That was our focus, the home front and our families.
You have no idea what freedom means, until you lose it.
That is what we thought about, that is what we fought for.”

His heroic actions, chronicled in the HBO series
“Band of Brothers,” cost him his right leg and earned
him the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts.

Guarnere has traveled to Iraq and met Petraeus
(he calls the general “a very good man”) last year
in Philadelphia. He doesn’t mince words about the
nation he gave so much to defend:
“Nobody gives two damns about the war today.
All they talk about in Washington is health care.”

Last Sunday a group of American soldiers gathered
in Baghdad at the site where, seven years earlier,
Paul R. Smith, a young Army platoon sergeant from
the 3rd Infantry Division, defended his small unit against
overwhelming odds. As Smith’s relentless machine-gun
fire broke the enemy attack, a bullet took his life.

Smith posthumously received the Medal of Honor.

Major General Tony Cucolo, commander of the
3rd Infantry Division and of all U.S. forces in northern Iraq,
was among the group. “As I looked around the small gathering
in a dusty, walled-in corner of Baghdad,” he said afterward,
“I marveled at how far some of the soldiers had travelled that
day for a ceremony that would last about 30 minutes.”

Elected officials could learn from the military,
according to Bert Rockman, a political science professor
at Purdue University.

“It would be nice if our political loonies took some
lessons from how the military functions through teamwork, assimilation, cooperation and looking after one another,”
he explains. “It’s not perfect, but it’s a model for how we
can best function to reach outcomes vital to our collective future.”

We can never do enough for those who serve our country.
They ask only for respect for what they do and their
willingness to do it for the rest of us.

And they ask – as all American soldiers have,
since 1775 – that their efforts not be forgotten.

In loving memory of U.S. Army Sergeant William J. Zito,
76th Infantry, Company G, World War II.

HOPE!!

One sunny day in January, 2013 an old man approached the
White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd
been sitting on a park bench.
He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said,
"I would like to go in and meet with President Obama."
The Marine looked at the man and said,
"Sir, Mr. Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here."
The old man said, "Okay", and walked away.
The following day, the same man approached the
White House and said to the same Marine,
"I would like to go in and meet with President Obama."
The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said yesterday,
Mr. Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here."

The man thanked him and, again, just walked away.
The third day, the same man approached the
White House and spoke to the very same U.S. Marine, saying
"I would like to go in and meet with President Obama."
The Marine, understandably agitated at this point,
looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row
you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Obama.
I've told you already that Mr. Obama is no longer the president
and no longer resides here. Don't you understand?"

The old man looked at the Marine and said,
"Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it."
The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said,
"See you tomorrow"
